Wick Fisher White Participates in Summer Youth Camp with CREW Philadelphia and Girls Inc.
Wick Fisher White was honored to participate in CREW Camp alongside four other AEC firms the week of July 11th, 2016.
CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) joined hands with Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey to create a five day effort to introduce middle school girls to various fields within the commercial real estate industry. The mission of “CREW Camp” was to 'foster professional developments skills and highlight the architecture, engineering and constructions segments of the commercial real estate industry as potential career considerations to the young girls.' In particular, each firm held a 4-5 hour session that included hands on activities, games, interactive field trips and more.
WFW’s day included an interactive engineering discussion, catered lunch and a tour hosted by longtime client – Comcast. Our team helped to give the girls a better understanding of MEP building systems and the important role that our engineers play in designing buildings such as the Comcast tower. In addition, the girls were able to get a glimpse of Comcast’s newest spaces and technologies. Overall, the team at WFW was thrilled to be able to spend the day with such an amazing, bright, and determined group of young ladies. Whatever their dreams may be, we hoped to encourage and inspire them to be strong, smart and bold!
Other participating firms included USA Architects, The Lighting Practice, Heckendorn Shiles Architects and Skanksa.
