Thomas Jefferson University Hospital - OB-GYN Fit-out
Wick Fisher White provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design and construction services for the fit-out of approximately 50,000 sf of space on three floors of 833 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for Thomas Jefferson University Hospital’s OB-GYN practice. The fit-out included a mix of patient care areas, such as exam, ultrasound and procedure rooms, as well as administrative functions, including offices and classrooms. The project included several unique design and construction challenges:
• New sections of floor slab were constructed at the mezzanine level to provide additional usable floor area.
• TJUH required the construction of new elevators and stairways within their space to provide for vertical communication between the three floors.
• An existing double-height space at street level functions as the primary patient waiting, check-in and registration area, and serves as the aesthetic focal point for the OB-Gyn practice.
In addition to our work for TJUH, Wick Fisher White provided MEP/FP engineering services for the building to facilitate the fit-out. These include the construction of new common tenant toilet rooms and corridors, and the relocation of building functions on the Concourse Level.
