Wick Fisher White provided design and construction administration services for the renovation and expansion of Boeing’s employee fitness center, located in Building 3-57 on their Philadelphia campus. Under the project scope the existing 4,200 sf fitness center, located on the first floor, was expanded by 2,500 sf into the adjacent high-bay industrial space within the building. The new fully renovated fitness center includes separate strength training and cardio areas, men’s and women’s shower/locker room facilities, and an aerobics studio. The project also included the installation of a new elevator connecting the fitness center lobby to the second floor office space above. Our team designed a stand-alone HVAC system to condition the fitness center independently of the remaining building spaces. The HVAC system was designed to handle the high ventilation rates and latent cooling loads associated with physical fitness activities.
