Lower Bucks Hospital - Gero-Psych Unit Renovation & Expansion
Originally conceived as a twelve bed senior behavioral health unit located on the vacant fourth floor ‘F’ Wing, Lower Bucks Hospital determined that the community needs required a minimum of 18 beds. Accordingly, they committed to a full renovation of the existing second floor ‘A’ & ‘B’ wings. The entire area was demolished down to the building structure and included the complete removal of all existing HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, fire protection and electrical equipment and distribution systems.
Wick Fisher White provided the required engineering services for the replacement of the mechanical and electrical infrastructure in the ‘A’ & ‘B’ Wings. Our design included a new roof mounted air handling unit and associated duct distribution (complete with anti-ligature air devices), refrigerant flow above ceiling heat pump units and associated duct distribution (complete with anti-ligature air devices), self-contained packaged terminal air conditioning units, exhaust air fans, anti-ligature plumbing fixtures, appurtenances and distribution piping (sanitary, sanitary vent, cold water, hot water, hot water recirculation), fire protection distribution piping (complete with anti-ligature sprinkler heads), anti-ligature luminaires, normal and essential (three branches) power distribution, panelboards, receptacles, nurse call system and devices, security devices and information technology distribution and devices.
