Verizon Wireless - Network Operating Center - Cold Aisle Containment
Wick Fisher White was responsible for the mechanical and electrical design of a cold aisle containment system for a 106,000 square foot, 24x7, two-level Network Switch Center/ NNO Data Hub. The facility consists of two Network Equipment Centers and two transport core rooms in addition to battery and UPS equipment support spaces and 16,000 sf of office spaces that support various related functions.
Specifically, the cold aisle containment system was designed to serve the two NEC’s and the two transport core rooms. The cold aisle containment helped to effectively cool the communications equipment racks in the NEC’s and core rooms by improving the flow of the conditioned cooling air into the equipment racks. As a result, the new system improved efficiencies and helped to extend the computer equipment life expectancy.
