Sawgrass Mills Mall - Anchor B Redevelopment
Wick Fisher White provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing design services for the renovation of approximately 103,000 sf of vacated anchor store space at the Sawgrass Mills Mall, located in Sunrise, Florida. Under the project scope the existing anchor building was gutted and re-demised into two in-line retail tenant spaces and new mall common concourse area. The project also included the construction of a 7,300 sf addition and two new mall entrances. The new addition connects the newly created concourse in the anchor building to one of the Mall’s existing food courts. The renovations of the existing anchor building were completed in summer of 2020. Construction of the new addition is scheduled to be completed in 2021.
In addition, substantial upgrades to the MEP utilities serving the anchor building were made, including the separation of services to Tenant and Mall areas. The project also included major reconfiguring of site drainage piping, including the relocation of underground grease interceptors serving the food court, to facilitate construction of the new addition. Construction was completed in phases, which required the documentation and submission of multiple independent drawing packages for permit approval.
