Tolton Place
The Tolton Place project encompasses the design of a modern three-story, 45-unit apartment building tailored for seniors.
Situated at 2604 Island Avenue in Philadelphia, the project was under the guidance of the Catholic Housing and Community Services. Alongside the residential units, the building features offices, a community room, a food cupboard, laundry facilities, and on-site social services to support residents. Additionally, a patio with a rain garden will offer outdoor leisure opportunities.
Wick Fisher White provided design for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for the new 44,000-square-foot structure. The building meets the rigorous standards of the Department of Energy’s Zero Energy Ready Homes program and has earned certification from Enterprise Green Communities.
Named in honor of Father Augustus Tolton, the first black Catholic priest in the US and a former slave, Tolton Place stands as a testament to his legacy and the community it serves.
